This is a beautiful, dreamy little scene from Randolph County in the heart of North Carolina. Reflections are always so nice…

make a change

I’m borrowing today’s image from Life Learned Feelings. This speaks to me. It seems as though I’ve been saying I was going to rock said-year several times in row now. It’s time to go out, make a change, get excited, de-clutter and be brave. And do it all with gratitude & a smile.

So thank you!

interrupt anxiety

For me this is one of the busiest times of year but it’s also a lot of freakin fun. I love being busy even if my feet are yelling at me to get better shoes. Anxiety & stress aren’t regulars around my psyche but they still creep up. Is there such a thing as healthy stress? I guess that’s what helps us get sh~tuff done. But there’s also the unnecessary kind that comes knocking for no reason. And to that I say, interrupt away! It’s during those times I think about the wonders I’m surrounded with. I don’t want to take these things for granted so I choose to appreciate them. Love & gratitude y’all!

On a winter trip to NY several years ago we had to buy rain boots. Opting on shiny rubber ones, I was happy they were inexpensive & served us well. Better than the $200 Columbia’s that rubbed your calves raw in MOMA. We decided to add our own graffiti to these shiners with our clever (to us) slogan NY4LIFE. It was such an insanely fun trip. These memories & friendship would last… for life.

So in that spirit I say, gratitude4life. And at the same time, gratitude for life. You get it.

How can I make gratitude a way of life? I can start by being truly grateful – from my family to this raincoat I’m wearing & being thankful for the downpour. Thoughts can turn into words that can become actions. When I wake, what am I thankful for? When I talk with my child on the way to school, what can we list? Who are we grateful to share our days with? Do we end up repeating ourselves? Often, and that is perfect with me.

There is too much to be ungrateful for. We see it everyday. That’s one reason I want to try to add love. I want honor others with my gratitude. And to look at the world, not with a blind eye, but a loving one.

at the car wash

Thankful to sit under this tree in line at the car wash. Let me tell you it’s better than digging a ditch… It’s always cool, And the boss don’t mind sometimes if you act the fool. And that song! Word!

What’s my top five “thankful-for” for the moment?

  1. Warmth, thinking of people who might not be so warm.
  2. Dinner with good friends.
  3. Conversations with a soulmate 4-life.
  4. Family, always family. They should really be at the top.
  5. The ability for thought, written word and sharing.
